Discover the Power of Expert Sports Photography in Ottawa
I am passionate about many types of sports and action photography. I’m pretty much willing to try any new sport or activity. Being introduced into a new community and photography subject really keeps my creative juices flowing. The challenge of capturing the speed and power of competition, regardless of whether its among sleek machines, or talented athletes is the same for me.
Many of the camera setting and techniques are similar. This makes it easier to change from one subject to another. I love panning. It’s a technique where you follow the subject with the lens. You choose a much slower shutter speed. The goal is to have a tack sharp subject and a blurred background which accentuates the feeling of movement and speed.
Regardless of where I am, I can see the passion that the people within the community hold for their sport. Doesn’t matter if it’s horses, go-karts or hydroplanes. The people love to be there. They devote significant amounts of time, money and energy to their beloved sport. They find it rewarding (and sometimes frustrating) so I make it a priority to capture the faces and smiles of the people at the finish line, the sidelines, in the pits, or in a huddle. It can be the pilot, or the rider, or the fans, the parent, coaches and officials - people is where the magic happens. It’s inspirational to seek out these special moment and capture them on film (well, on a digital memory card anyway).
